Windows 7 - "This is no longer located" error
When you delete a file or a directory and you hit by an error message "This is no longer located in" whenever you are trying to delete the file or directory. You are certain that the file and directory is there (at least, your eyes see it) but you just can't delete it.
They may be cause by error in journal however, chkdsk won't work as well.
The is a way to delete the files or directory thru... as follow
1. Make sure you have a favorite zip program installed (e.g. WinRAR, 7Zip)
2. Right click on the file or the directory (note - Directory containing these error files/directory will work too)
3. Select the Zip Program menu, then "Add to archive"
4. Depend on the zip program, it will pop up an dialog box for you to configure how to archive. Regardless, there will be a option - "Delete files after archiving". Tick that.
5. Let the other setting at default and start the archiving.
6. The archive will be created in the machine and the troublesome folder will be deleted automatically.
7. You could now delete the archive file
